For Patty Pearcy, mixing work and fun isn't just a concept. In 2005, she joined SimplyFun, a business dedicated to providing quality fun time for kids, parents (and company consultants and employees) alike. She serves as both president and CFO of the fast-growing, Seattle-based company.
Patty has learned a valuable lesson: doing what you love--no matter how or when you decide to take the plunge--can really pay off.

Leisure: Golfing and skiing are my two favorite pastimes. I also love gardening, cooking (when I have time) and antiquing around the country. As a SimplyFun team, we volunteer quarterly at TreeHouse in Seattle, which supports foster children in our area.

Time Management: Running a startup business takes a lot of time, so managing time becomes even more critical. Technology helps, particularly with Wi-Fi on airlines and data connections 24x7 by phone. But the lessons I learned early in my career still apply: Try to touch something once, whether a piece of paper or electronic message; make time each day to work on some portion of your BIG "to do's;" and let the "delete" button be your friend.
