Unlike the early, years, Buck Stop faces plenty of competition for the hunter's attention and his pocketbook. Garbow figures more than 100 deer scent companies have come on the market since he founded Buck Stop in 1953. Many of those brands have come and gone, but enough remain that Buck Stop devotes a lot of attention to its marketing efforts.

Much of that is done by Garbow who also works on new products. For 2003, Buck Stop was set to add a product to its line of liquid deer lures. While initial results were promising, Garbow felt the lima needed more positive reports from field experience.
