The winter holiday season in Los Angeles is very special, thanks mainly to its excellent Mediterranean-type weather, which allows residents to take a morning walk along the beach shore, go skiing on the nearby mountains in the afternoon, and enjoy the city's diverse nightlife throughout the evening at a comfortable climate. Live music, fine dining, art venues, and cosmopolitan cinema are some of the urban pleasures available nightly. Not to mention the diverse range of nocturnal settings from sports bars, to trendy discos and bohemian cafés.

VidaSalsera.com (Salsa Life), headed by Dena Burroughs, has kept the Southland community up to date with everything salsa, since its birth in November of 2005. Currently celebrating its third anniversary, this is the website to visit to stay informed about salsa dancing, special events, concerts, and live music performances in the City of Angels. Latin Beat Magazine salutes and congratulates Dena and VidaSalsera.com for its outstanding public service to our Latín music community.

Dímelo Records is an independent Los Angeles-based Latin record label specializing in salsa, cumbia, punta, reggaetón, Latin hip-hop, Latin house, and Latin pop. It was founded in 1994 by Nissim J. Baly, whose family had been distributing Latin music in Los Angeles for several decades before Nissim inherited the family business and took it to another level. Dímelo Records' roster of Los Angeles-based salsa bands includes Orquesta Tabaco y Ron, Chino Espinoza & Los Dueños del Son, Charanga Cubana, and more recently, Johnny Polanco y su Conjunto Amistad. Dímelo Records' products are available everywhere music is sold, from Wal-Mart to Best Buy to local record shops and even online at MercadoDeMusica.com, iTunes.com and dimelorecords.com. Baly has also created an event he calls "Secret Fridays," a monthly gathering of business people, ranging from bankers and cigar vendors to entrepreneurs and entertainment types; all under one roof at a secret location (revealed only a few days in advance), with a large guest list and paid admission for the general public. The event features Dímelo Records' recording artists in a social Friday night atmosphere of networking and socializing.
