Package Thieves Thrive During Pandemic.

The topic of package theft in the U.S. makes headlines around this time every year: as Americans engage in holiday shopping, package thefts skyrocket. This year, however, package theft already is higher than ever as the pandemic has driven more consumers to stay home and do most of their shopping online.

According to a survey by Safe-Wise:

* Among package thefts that took place in the past year, more than 75% occurred during the pandemic.

* 67% of consumers say they shop online more since the pandemic started.

* More than 50% get packages delivered at least once a week.

* 63% indicate the pandemic has made them more concerned about package theft.

* 68% of package thefts occur at single-family houses.
