Davis House, 1010 W. Wabash Ave., 47933; 317/364-0461. At this circa-1870 Italianate "country inn," guests enjoy a full breakfast that includes baked goods and fresh fruits. It is furnished in antiques, and each of the five guest rooms has a private bath. Rates: $40 to $60, single or double occupancy.

General Lew Wallace Inn, 309 W. Pike St., 47933; 317/362-8400. There is a free continental breakfast, plus a restaurant and lounge on the premises, at the 40-room inn. It is close to downtown and historic sites, and is only one block from Wabash College. Rates: $34 single; $39.50 double.

Holiday Inn Crawfordsville, 2500 N. Lafayette Rd., 47933; 317/362-8700, 800/465-4329. Located off I-74 at exit 176, this 150-room inn has an outdoor pool, game room, restaurant and a lounge. Rates: $58 single, plus $6 for each additional adult. There is no charge for children.

Sugar Creek Bed & Breakfast, 901 W. Market St., 47933; 317/362-4095. Just north of Wabash Avenue off 231, this turn-of-the century home offers three guest rooms. Guest may enjoy the home's Florida Room, garden and fountains, and Crawfordsville's points of interest. Rate: $35.

Yount's Mill Inn, 3729 Old State Rd. 32 W., 47933; 317/362-5864. Located on Sugar Creek, the federal-style inn was built as a home in 1852. The four guest rooms are large and furnished with antiques. The home is listed on the National Register. Rates: $40 and $50.
