Lung Cancer Career Development Award (DOD)
Scope: The Defense Department’s U.S. Army Medical
Research Acquisition Activity seeks applications for the
Lung Cancer Career Development Award announcement
to support early-career, independent investigators to
conduct impactful research under the mentorship of an
experienced lung cancer researcher as an opportunity
to obtain the funding, mentoring, and experience
necessary for productive, independent careers at the
forefront of lung cancer research.
Deadline: Pre-applications are due April 6, 2021;
proposals, April 20, 2021.
Funds: $1.2 million total for up to three awards.

Ovarian Cancer Proteogenomics Research
Award (DOD)
Scope: The Defense Department’s U.S. Army Medical
Research Acquisition Activity seeks applications for
the Ovarian Cancer Proteogenomics Research Award
announcement to support the use of proteomics and/or
genomics to explore new concepts or theories in ovarian
cancer.
Deadline: Pre-applications are due April 1, 2021;
proposals, July 8, 2021.
Funds: $800,000 total for up to two awards.
Eligibility: Unrestricted.
Areas: DOD said funding is intended to support the
genomic and/or transcriptomic and/or proteomic analysis
of currently available clinical specimens with a focus on
answering biological and pathophysiological questions
of clinical relevance in ovarian cancer. The proposed
research question should be innovative and have the
potential to make an impact on ovarian cancer.

Battleeld Interpretation Grants (DOI)
Scope: The Interior Department’s National Park Service
seeks applications for the FY21 Battleeld Interpretation
Grants announcement to support the identication,
research, evaluation, interpretation, and protection of
historic battleelds and associated sites on a national,
state, and local level.
Deadline: May 5, 2021.
Funds: Scoping grants fund early stages of project
development, such as research and content creation,
consultation with stakeholders, exploration of available
technologies, audience research, and development of
technical proposals and range from $20,000 to $50,000
with project periods of up to two years. Implementation
grants are available to applicants who have completed
interdisciplinary scoping prior to application and can
provide draft content and design plans and range from
$50,000 to $200,000 with a project period of two to
three years.
Eligibility: Colleges and universities; nonprot
organizations; and state, local, and Native American
tribal governments.
Areas: DOI said successful projects should: include
expertise in content, interpretive and educational
methods, and integration of technology at all stages
of the project; convene a project team with a diversity
of perspectives and sources of knowledge to better
understand and interpret the past, projects should not
rely on a single subject matter expert; incorporate recent
