Outstanding school business partnerships.

A number of Anchorage schools and businesses were recognized with STAR Awards at an April luncheon honoring the best of the best in the Anchorage School Business Partnership program.

Started in 1991 as a joint venture between the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce and the Anchorage School District, the program has grown from 28 businesses to more than 500 partnerships throughout the city. Partners provide schools with guest speakers, classroom volunteers, work experience for students, material and monetary resources, as well as other special activities.
