Two outstanding financial executives inducted into FEI's 2008 Hall of Fame.

Two exemplary financial executives will be inducted into FEI's Hall of Fame on Nov. 17, 2008, at a gala at the New York Stock Exchange. The two are Susan Schmidt Bies, Ph.D. and John F. Ruffle.

Bies is a former member of the Board of Governors for the Federal Reserve and Ruffle is former vice chairman and director of JPMorgan & Co. Inc. The FEI Hall of Fame, co-sponsored by Microsoft Corp., recognizes individuals who epitomize the performance, leadership and integrity of the most exemplary financial executives throughout their careers.

Bies served as a member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System from 2001 through 2007. As part of her duties, she represented the Federal Reserve in the Financial Stability Forum and served as chairman of the Committee on Supervisory and Regulatory Affairs.

Prior to joining the Federal Reserve, Bies spent more than two decades at First Tennessee National Corp., where she served in a number of high-ranking positions of increasing importance, including executive vice president for Risk Management and Auditor, executive vice president and chief financial officer, and senior vice president and treasurer. While at First Tennessee, Bies was a member of FEI's Committee on Corporate Reporting.

Ruffle served as vice chairman and director of JPMorgan and Morgan Guaranty Trust Co. of New York, from 1985 through 1993, He began his career with JPMorgan as controller in 1970 and became the company's chief financial officer in 1980. Before joining JPMorgan, he also held positions with Price Waterhouse and International; Paper Co.

Ruffle currently serves as a director of several mutual funds in the JPMorgan family, as well as certain other investment funds managed by JPMorgan Investment Management Inc. He is also a director of American Shared Hospital Services Inc. and an emeritus trustee of the Board of Trustees of John Hopkins University.
