Is there any emotive word Eduardo Galeano missed in his vicious tirade against Israel ("Operation Impunity," Match issue)? No facts, just "bloodbath," "war of extermination," "slaughter," "kills for horror," "human butchery," "ethnic cleansing."

The war crimes fall firmly on the shoulders of Hamas. It is illegal to intentionally murder civilians, but this is standard operating procedure for Hamas, which encourages its young men and women to strap on explosives and go murder a few civilians.

Israel returned fire. Israel sent text messages to Palestinian civilians warning them. It is against international law to use civilians as human shields--again, these are Hamas tactics, not Israeli.

Israelis put up with the terror induced by rockets continually launched into their country for over two years. Rocket attacks are another clear violation of international law.

When Israel finally strikes back, Galeano pretends to be horrified. But I think he is not. It is another golden opportunity for him to spout mindless drivel.
