Oshkosh Provides Israel with Modified Military Vehicles.

* Oshkosh Defense is equipping the Israeli military with a modified version of its family of medium tactical vehicles, according to a company executive.

"The Israeli medium truck fleet is a very old truck fleet," Mike Ivy, senior vice president of international programs and global product support, said in an interview. "The Israelis are seeking to improve their capabilities with the new buy of medium trucks to improve mobility and reliability."

The platforms are being provided through a series of contracts. The most recent was an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, which was awarded in October for 589 vehicles with a potential total value of $159 million, according to a news release. Deliveries are slated to start in July 2020 and the estimated completion date is October 2024, with an initial delivery order valued at $25 million for 91 vehicles. The systems will be built in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
