Organization honors youth-friendly businesses.

A statewide nonprofit organization called Spirit of Youth is honoring Alaska businesses that promote and support youth efforts in the business world.

"Our primary mission is positive recognition for youth in the state of Alaska," said Cher Easley, executive director of Spirit of Youth. "However, in the last two years, our teen council has created criteria and is accepting applications for businesses in Alaska that would like to be designated 'youth friendly.'"
