Appendix A Summary of Industry Resources

Detailed below is a listing of common industry sources of information that may be referenced in performing analyses of preferential transfers. This list is meant only for summary purposes and does not include all possible sources that may be considered, or all data available from each of these sources. Further, the inclusion of a source of information in the listing below does not necessarily indicate that the data provided by that source is reasonable to rely on for any specific industry or as it relates to any specific matter.

RMA

a. Brief Outline:

i. Founded in 1914, the Risk Management Association (RMA) is a nonprofit, member-driven professional association serving the financial services industry. Its purpose is to advance the use of sound risk principles in the financial services industry. RMA promotes an enterprise approach to risk management that focuses on credit risk, market risk, operational risk, securities lending and regulatory issues. RMA helps banking and nonbanking institutions identify and manage the impacts of credit risk, operational risk and market risk on their businesses and customers. It achieves that through education, research, networking and leadership opportunities.

b. Relevant Publication or Compiled Data:

i. Financial Ratio Benchmarks: contains industry data including median sales and days receivables.
ii. Annual Statement Studies: Industry Default Probabilities and Cash: Source for comparative data that comes directly from the financial statements of the small and medium-size business customers of RMA's member institutions. Includes:
1. Nineteen classic financial statement ratios, clearly defined.
2. Common-size balance sheet and income statement line items, arrayed by six different asset and sales size categories.
3. More than 769 industries presented using the 2007 North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) codes.
4. Data available for four years.

c. Disclosures/Disclaimers:

i. The more than 250,000 statements used to produce the composites presented here come directly from RMA member institutions and represent the financials from their commercial customers and prospects. RMA does not know the names of the individual entities. In fact, to ensure confidentiality, company names are removed before the data is even delivered to RMA. The raw data making up each composite is not available to any third party.

Sageworks

a. Brief Outline:

i. Sageworks provides private-company and industry financial information, and is capable of cross-examining the two realms in order to generate comparative statistics.

b. Relevant Publication or Compiled Data:

i. Data-mining engine that has a proprietary database of real-time, private-company financial information that is segmented by industry classification. The 1,400 industries can be segmented by geography and revenue range to ensure that businesses can define an appropriate peer group and access relevant financial and industry-specific benchmarks. The report covers three areas:
1. General industry visibility
2. Financial structure
3. Industry metrics

c. Disclosures/Disclaimers:

i. Primarily from accounting firms based on realtime auditing. It provides rolling data, thus it changes every day.
