To more easily maneuver through sandstorms and complex urban terrain, U.S. special operations forces are equipping their vehicles with an advanced navigation system.

The U.S. Army Special Operations Command in September authorized KVH Industries, of Middletown, R.I., to begin full-rate production and fielding of its TACNAV light vehicle-navigation system, to be installed on tactical vehicles.
