This stunning video memoir tells the story of Holocaust survivor Gerda Weissman from the day in June, 1942, when she was deported from her home town of Bielsko, Poland, until May, 1945, when she was liberated by American troops. The events are made all the more dramatic because of the nearly dry-eyed, factual manner in which Mrs. Klein (she married Lt. Kurt Klein, the American soldier who ultimately saved her, a year after the war ended) relates the devastating loss of her mother, father, and brother; her three years of slave labor in Nazi-run factories; and the three-month death march in the winter of 1945.
