The problem with the South (and I live here), is the serious disconnect between Republican economic policies, which are crushing the working and middle classes, and Republican social policies, which are supported for the most part by the same people crushed economically. In other words, Southern conservatives can be poor as dirt, but they still believe Democrats will take their guns, give their crappy jobs to immigrants...
