It's wine tasting season in the Upstate (or as many would argue, every season is the prime time to visit the vintner), so here's a list of some opportunities to try local favorites.

Russian Lunch and Learn at The Cook's Station with Alexei Khimenko

How many times have you sampled chardonnay with a Bolshoiballet dancer raised in Moscow? In case that answer is none, you can stop by The Cook's Station today from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at 515 Buncombe St. in Greenville to taste four flavors from My Story Wine Co.'s palette with founder Alexei Khimenko.

The wines originate from the company's vineyard in Paso Robles, Calif., and will be accompanied by a light lunch prepared by Craig Khuns. The cost of the event is $30 per person.
