INTRODUCTION

Professor Harold G. Maier began teaching at Vanderbilt University Law School in 1965 and held the David Daniels Allen Distinguished Chair in Law until his retirement in 2006. In addition to his service at Vanderbilt, he founded the transnational legal studies program and the Vanderbilt Journal of Transnational Law. Among his many endeavors, Professor Maier served on the editorial board of the American Journal of International Law and as a member of the editorial board of the American Journal of Comparative Law.
