* Marine Corps snipers are expected to become a bit more accurate thanks to new equipment.

They are to receive a tripod mounted, mil-dot spotting scope that dovetails with a handheld ballistic computer the Marines recently acquired. (The mil in rail-dot is a shortening of the term milliradian). Sniper rifles have mildots on both horizontal and vertical crosshairs so they can measure height as well as width through their scopes.
