The one-hundredth anniversary of the splendid and stately OAS headquarters building is an opportunity to renew the Organization's commitment to the principles of peace, democracy, justice, and prosperity in the region. The April 29 gala was held in that spirit and was attended by well-known persons in the political and arts world of the Americas.

Built in April 1910, the House of the Americas in Washington, DC has been a venue for all of the major political and social debates of the hemisphere and a place where important decisions have been made.
