In a recent speech at the National Defense University, Vice President Biden explained the Obama Administration's vision of our future nuclear security. He reiterated President Obama's pledge to maintain the effectiveness of our nuclear deterrent, while working toward the ultimate goal of a world free of nuclear weapons.

The Vice President reminded his audience that the great conflicts of the twentieth century "were decided not just on the battlefield, but in the classroom and the laboratory." He praised the work of researchers and scientists at Los Alamos, Sandia, Livermore and other nuclear-related research facilities and laboratories, and emphasized the Obama Administration's efforts to adequately maintain our current nuclear stockpile and infrastructure.
