The Western Political Quarterly is published in March, June, September and
December, Subscription rates: individuals, $16.00; students (certified by depart-
ment chair), and retired members of the profession, $11.00; institutions and
libraries, ~25.00. Foreign subscribers add $4.00 postage. Individual subscriptions
include Western Political Science Association membership.
Instructions to Contributors
Address correspondence regarding contributions to the Quarterly to Dean
E. Mann, Editor, Western Political Quarterly, Department of Political Science,
University of California, Santa Barbara, CA 93106. Please submit four (4) copies
of a manuscript to be considered for publication, accompanied by an abstract
(150 words). All manuscripts should be double-spaced, including quotations and
references, using standard typewriter paper and reasonable margins. Ordinarily,
an article should not exceed 30 pages. Because the manuscripts are sent out anony-
mously for evaluation by other readers, the author(s)’ name and affilition should
be typed on a separate page. All references identifying the author(s) should be
removed from the manuscript and typed separately. Art work should be prepared
professionally, copies only being submitted with the manuscript. Originals must
be provided on request. Tables should be separately typed with their position
indicated in the manuscript. The reference form is that used in the American
Political Science Review and most scientific journals; brief, parenthetical refer-
ences - author, year of publication, and page number if necessary -
included
in the text with all sources listed alphabetically at the end of the article. Foot-
notes will be used only for explanatory comments.
