NOTICES
The Western Policial Quarterly is published in March, June, September and Decem-
ber. Subscription rates: individuals, $20.00; students (certified by department chair),
and retired members of the profession, $11.00; institutions and libraries, $35.00.
Foreign subscribers add $4.00 postage. Individual subscriptions include Western Polit-
ical Science Association membership.
Instructions to Contributors
Address correspondence regarding contributions to the Quarterly to Walter J. Stone,
Editor, Western Political Quarterly, Department of Political Science, Campus Box 333,
University of Colorado, Boulder, CO 80309. Please submit four (4) copies of a manu-
script to be considered for publication, accompanied by an abstract (150 words). All
manuscripts should be double-spaced, including quotations and references, using stan-
dard typewriter paper and reasonable margins. Ordinarily, an article should not
exceed 30 pages. Because the manuscripts are sent out anonymously for evaluation by
other readers, the author(s)’ name and affiliation should be typed on a separate page.
All references identifying the author(s) should be removed from the manuscript and
typed separately. Art work should be prepared professionally, copies only being sub-
mitted with the manuscript. Originals must be provided on request. Table should be
separately typed with their position indicated in the manuscript. The reference form
is that used in the American Political Science Review and most scientific journals; brief,
parenthetical references - author, year of publication, and page number if
necessary-included in the text with all sources listed alphabetically at the end of the
