Subscription Rates
The Western Political Quarterly is published in March, June, September and De-
cember. The subscription rate for individuals is $16.00. The subscription rate for
students as certified by Department Chairperson, and for retired members of the
profession is $11.00. All individual subscriptions include membership in the Western
Political Science Association. The subscription rate for institutions and libraries is
$25.00. Foreign subscribers add $4.00 postage to the above rates.
Instructions to Contributors
Address correspondence regarding contributions to the Quarterly to Dean E. Mann,
Editor, Western Political Quarterly, Department of Political Science, University of Califor-
nia, Santa Barbara, CA 93106. Please submit four (4) copies of a manuscript to be
considered for publication. Each manuscript should be accompanied by an abstract no
longer than 150 words. All manuscripts should be double-spaced, including quotations
and references, using standard typewriter paper and reasonable margins.
Each manuscript will be carefully evaluated: those that are deemed too lengthy will
be returned to the author. Ordinarily, an article should not exceed 30 pages. Because
the manuscripts are sent out anonymously for evaluation by other readers, the author(s)’
name
and affiliation should be typed on a separate page. All references identifying the
author(s) should be removed from the manuscript and typed on a separate page. Owing
to increased postage costs, only manuscripts accompanied by a self-addressed, stamped
envelope will be returned.
Art work should be prepared professionally, copies only being submitted with the
manuscript. Originals must be provided when requested by the editorial office. Tables
should be separately typed with guides such as &dquo;Table 1 about here&dquo; indicated in the
manuscript.
The reference form for all manuscripts submitted after September 1, 1980, will be
that used in most scientific journals: brief, parenthetical...
