Goodbye to 2018 and welcome to 2019!

As you may have noticed, the Quarterly has undergone a significant design overhaul. After 31 years of the prior format, we felt it was time for a more modern look and feel. We certainly hope you enjoy these improvements.

In addition to the articles by dedicated members of the workers' compensation community that we've published in this issue, we've included for your reference our updated cumulative index of all the articles the (Quarterly has ever published.

2018 was an eventful year for the practice of workers' compensation law in California. Several significant published decisions came from the courts of appeal, such as Dept. of Corrections v. WCAB (Fitzpatrick) (scope of Labor Code section 4662(b) "in accordance with the fact") and City of Petaluma v. WCAB (Lindh) (validity of apportionment of "risk factors"). The WCAB made a procedurally significant en banc decision in Sandab Suon v. California Dairies (dispute resolution procedure in QME records service disputes). Further, several California Supreme Court decisions, although not directly involving workers' compensation litigation, will be indirectly impactful...
