Indiana University Northwest, one of eight campuses of Indiana University, serves more than 5,000 students in the seven-county region of northwest Indiana, collectively from Lake, Porter, LaPorte, Newton, Jasper, Pulaski and Starke counties, and offers master's, bachelor's and associate's degrees, as well as certificate programs.

IU Northwest is organized into eight degree-granting academic units, namely the School of Nursing and Health Professions consisting of Allied Health, Dental Education and Nursing; the College of Arts and Sciences; School of Business and Economics; Division of Social Work; School of Education; Division of Continuing Studies; Division of Labor Studies; and the School of Public and Environmental Affairs.

Award-winning, highly qualified and experienced faculty members teach at IU Northwest, with more than 83 percent having doctorates or the highest degree available in their field.

While Indiana University's history in northwest Indiana dates back to 1922, the present site of the IU Northwest campus was opened in 1959.
