The North Slope oil spot price varied significantly over the past year, with a difference of up to $18.88 as measured on a once-per-month basis. The highest price during the surveyed period of time came in during July 2006 at $72.24, while the lowest price occurred in October 2006 at $53.36. As of April 25, 2007, the current North Slope Spot Price was $66.22 per barrel, compared to $69.28 in April 2006. On a yearly basis this denotes a 4 percent decrease. However, since the low price of $53.36 in October 2006, the North Slope spot price has been steadily climbing, showing a continuous upward trend over the past six months. The 6 in October 2006, the North only exception to this occurred in January 2007 where the price dipped down to $54.37 before jumping back up to $59.79 in February.
