Scope: The Agriculture Department’s Foreign
Agricultural Service seeks applications for the
FY2021 Norman E. Borlaug International Agricultural
Science and Technology Fellowship announcement
to advance USDA’s agricultural research goals of
promoting collaborative programs among agricultural
professionals of eligible countries, agricultural
professionals of the United States, the international
agricultural research system and US entities conducting
research by providing fellowships to individuals from
eligible countries who specialize or have experience
in agricultural education, research, extension or other
related elds.
Deadline: Feb. 1, 2021.
Funds: Up to $540,000 total for nine individual awards
of up to $60,000 each. The maximum project period is
two years.
Eligibility: Colleges and universities.
Areas: USDA said the successful applicant institution
will design and implement a training program to meet
the participant’s proposed research goals and objectives
to the closest extent possible. The selected institution
will also include leadership and communication
training to help the fellow better communicate research
conducted under their fellowship to policymakers in their
respective countries to help implement science-based
agricultural policies.

Indiana Partners for Conservation—Indiana
(USDA)
Scope: The Agriculture Department’s Natural Resources
Conservation Service (NRCS) seeks applications
for the Indiana Partners for Conservation—Indiana
announcement for the purpose of leveraging NRCS
resources, addressing local natural resource issues,
encouraging collaboration and developing state- and
community-level conservation leadership.
Deadline: Jan. 25, 2021.
Funds: $1 million total for up to 10 awards ranging from
$30,000 to $500,000. The maximum project period is
ve years.
Eligibility: Colleges and universities; nonprot
organizations; and state, local and Native American
tribal governments.
Areas: USDA said activities may include but are not
limited to: advancing the goals of the Indiana Agriculture
Nutrient Alliance and the Indiana State Nutrient
Reduction Strategy; promoting soil health to producers,
landowners and/or private agronomic advisors; and
conducting conservation planning, on-site (eld)
practice certications and/or follow-up with producers on
establishment of conservation practices.
