A new dimension in entertainment has arrived with the introduction of the Nintendo 3DS gaming system. Without the need for special glasses, players get treated to eye-popping visuals as the stereoscopic 3D display gives objects a feeling of space and depth that extends far into the back of the screen. It becomes easier to see the position of characters and obstacles, making many game experiences even more intuitive. It has a Depth Slider that allows users to adjust the intensity of the 3D settings or turn them down completely, as all Nintendo 3DS games and applications can be played in 2D on the bright, crisp screen. Additionally, almost all existing Nintendo DS and DSi games can be played on the 3DS in 2D.

The 3DS features Motion and Gyro Sensors that react to the motion and tilt of the system, both side to side and up and down, and the Circle Pad, located above the + Control Pad, offers full analog control. Allocating 400 pixels for each eye to create the 3D effect, the widescreen top display shows 800x240 resolution, while the bottom LCD touch screen operates at a resolution of 320x240--with both screens displaying brilliant colors.

Built-in software includes the stereo camera for taking 3D pictures, 3DS Sound, Mii Maker, AR Games, and Face Raiders, etc. The system comes with a 2GB SD Memory Card to store 3D photos, sound recordings, music from your PC, and games downloaded from the Nintendo eShop. Social features include StreetPass, which lets the 3DS automatically exchange data--such as Miis, high scores, and custom characters--with other 3DS systems within range, and SpotPass, which detects wireless HotSpots or wireless LAN access points and obtains information, game data, free software, and videos. The gaming system, which measures 2.9 inches high, 5.3 inches long, 0.8 inches deep, comes in Cosmo Black, Flame Red, and Aqua Blue.

Super Marie 3D Land reinvents everything fans love about Mario gaming through the use of true 3D, without special glasses. Players will find exhilarating new experiences while running, jumping, and stomping on enemies. 3D visuals make it easier to judge the depths and distances in their environments, Le., accurately jump to the next platform or figure how far Mario is from a question block.
