BCBA Announces "The Side Bar"

The Boulder County Bar Association is changing the way it offers CLE programs. With a new space that allows opportunities for more vibrant and extensive offerings, the BCBA has launched a new program called The Side Bar. The program takes place on the second Thursday of every month with an all-bar CLE from 4 to 5 p.m., followed by a happy hour from 5 to 6 p.m. The Side Bar promotes collegiality and networking while enabling members to fulfill their CLE requirements. The inaugural program featured the CBA's 2019 Legislative Update. Upcoming programs include Time Management for Attorneys, Client-Centered Pricing, Mentoring a Professional Identity, On Being a Lawyer, and Speed Dating with the Judges. The BCBA will continue to offer section-specific CLEs as well. These will be listed in the calendar, but times will vary to accommodate members who are unable to attend lunch hour events.

DBA YLD Rapids Game

On September 11, the Denver Bar Association Young Lawyers Division donned burgundy and headed out to Dick's Sporting Goods Park to cheer on the Colorado Rapids. Members were treated to their own private area in the stadium and enjoyed pizza while the Rapids faced off against the Los Angeles Galaxy. It was a beautiful, sunny day, and the game had a Star Wars theme that would have made George Lucas proud.

Young Lawyers Kickball Showdown

On September 14, the Young Lawyers Divisions of the Colorado and Denver Bar Associations went head-to-head as the Executive Council from each section met at City Park in Denver for a kickball showdown. The teams kicked, sweat, and laughed their way through nine innings. In a neck-and-neck finish, the DBA YLD pulled ahead, taking home the championship tide. The event featured an appearance from CBA YLD council member Maral Arjomandi's furry friend, Lucy, who was later voted MVP.
