CBA Presidential Visit to the DBA
On March 7, CBA President Dick Gast visited with members of the Denver Bar Association at the Molson Coors Tap Room in Denver. He was joined by guest speakers Judge Allison H. Eid of the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals and Judge Alan M. Loeb of the Colorado Court of Appeals. With beautiful views of Denver as a backdrop, the speakers each discussed a bit about their backgrounds and current positions, as well as the future of the Colorado and Denver Bar Associations, while members enjoyed a selection of fine beers and appetizers.
CBA Tax Law Section James E. Bye Lifetime Achievement Award
Te CBA Tax Law Section has awarded the James E. Bye Lifetime Achievement Award to James R. Walker, a senior tax partner of Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie. Walker received the award during a section luncheon at the Brown Palace Hotel. Also in attendance were three prior recipients of the prestigious award: John Mansfield (2011), Ted Gelt (2014), and Nancy Crow (2016).
Lawyers League Basketball
Lawyers League Basketball’s version of March Madness for 2018 concluded with its championship games this year:
■ In A League, Starbury v. Madison defeated Evans & McFarland.
■ In B League, Burns Figa and Will defeated the Ex-Patriots.

Colorado State High School Mock Trial Tournament
