Spring Colorado Bar Admission Ceremony

Hundreds of families, friends, and distinguished members of the legal community gathered at Boettcher Concert Hall on May 30 for a special session of the Colorado Supreme Court to admit into practice those who passed the February Colorado bar exam. CBA President Patricia Jarzobski gave an inspiring speech encouraging the new attorneys to get involved in the Colorado legal community. The keynote address was delivered by John Walsh from WilmerHale and stressed the importance of professionalism. The Oath of Admission was administered by Colorado Supreme Court Chief Justice Nancy E. Rice.

2016 Colorado Judicial Excellence Awards

Te Colorado Judicial Department has named five individuals and one team as 2016 Judicial Excellence Award recipients. Te awards honor employees for exemplary work and for contributing to the high quality of service provided throughout the state’s 22 judicial districts.

Joanne Montero, a 30-year Judicial Department employee who works as a supervisor in the Las Animas County courts, was named Court Employee of the Year. Te award for Probation Employee of the Year went to Leslie Blum of the 5th JD. Jennifer Mendoza received the State Court Administrator’s Office Employee of the Year award. Te Outstanding Team of the Year Award went to Scott Prendergast and Jessica Currat of the Denver Adult Probation office. Eric Hogue, district administrator of the 6th JD and 22nd JD, was named Manager of the Year after undertaking several major projects, including the construction of a new courthouse, the major renovation of another courthouse, and addressing safety issues in a...
