DU Law Stars Event

DU Law Stars is the University of Denver Sturm College of Law's premiere funding event, taking place each year in the fall. Money raised from the event supports the Clinical Programs, the Judicial Fellows Program, and, for the first time this year, the Veterans Advocacy Project. The law school entertained 785 guests at the Denver Marriott City Center on November 1, breaking a record in both attendees and proceeds. This year's honorees were: James M. Mulligan, JD '74 (Thompson G. Marsh Award); Leslie A. Fields, JD '81 (William L. Keating Outstanding Alumni Award); Hon Alfred C. Harrell, JD '71 (Hon. Robert H. McWilliams Alumni Professionalism Award); and Martin J. Katz (Robert B. Yegge Excellence in Teaching Award). Colorado Receives "Justice for All" Grant

Colorado is one of seven states to be awarded a Justice for All project grant. The grant will allow the Colorado access to justice community, including the CBA, the Access to Justice Commission, the Colorado Judicial Branch, and Colorado Legal Services, to conduct an inventory of civil legal resources and form partnerships with relevant stakeholders. The result will be a state assessment and strategic action plan to provide meaningful access to justice for all. Justice for All grants are supported by the Public Welfare Foundation and the National Center for State Courts. Colorado Supreme Court Bar Admission Ceremony

On the afternoon of October 31, the 583 individuals who successfully passed the July 2016 Bar Exam were recognized at a special ceremony at Boettcher Concert Hall.
