FOCUS Brands affiliate Schlotzsky&'s Austin Eatery has reached a 10-unit franchise development agreement with Jordan Giles, Terry Giles and Scott Lay of LG2 Restaurant Group. The agreement involves expansion to parts of Arkansas, Texas and Oklahoma starting in late 2019. Jordan and Terry Giles have been multi-unit franchisees with Dairy Queen for more than 20 years, operating 15 locations around Tyler, Texas. Scott Lay, a four-year Dairy Queen franchisee, has more than 20 years of experience working in the commercial rea estate industry focusing on the design and construction of quick-service restaurants (QSRs). The 10-unit deal marks the largest agreement for the Schlotzsky&'s brand since FOCUS Brands acquitted the concept in late 2016.

Chop Stop has inked franchise agreements for 16 new locations across three states, including the brand&'s first locations in the states of Nevada and Texas. The California-based salad and health-oriented QSR concept started in early 2018, with plans to have 23 locations open by the end of 2019. Among the new locations is a multi-unit agreement for eight locations around San Antonio, Texas, with an option to develop another eight units in Austin. Five Chop Stop locations are under construction in Southern California. The company has also reached a franchise agreement with Richard Rees focused on multiple locations in the San Diego area. Rees is a second-generation owner of a 7-Eleven who was looking for an emerging concept to grow with the brand and will operate the Chop Stop with his sons, Mark and Joey.

9Round Franchising has opened its first studio in Singapore. The 2,000-square-foot facility is based in the capital city on the main island of Pulua Ujong. Finalized in 2018, 9Round&'s master franchise agreement with Singapore calls for up to 25 studios over the course of the next 10 years. With the opening in Singapore, 9Round now has locations in 16 countries outside the U.S.

The Ark Pet Spa & Hotel is opening its fourth location in Chattanooga, Tenn. The new location will offer pet boarding and grooming, as well as the Ark&'s retail brand Slobberbones Bakery & Market.

Outdoor Living Brands subsidiary Conserva Irrigation is reporting a total of 45 new franchise agreements over the course of 2018, including the expansion of nine territories with existing franchisees.
