New Richland County Library branch opens in Edgewood.

The newest branch of the Richland County Library has opened in the Edgewood community. The library held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday for the 7,500-square-foot building, located at 2101 Oak St.

The structure, previously a Dollar General store, was transformed during nearly a year of construction. The library branch offers visitors an oral recording room; meeting spaces; a children's area featuring a story room; and a makerspace with tools to experiment and create in guided and open-lab environments.
