New material, still discouraging.

Thanks for your issue on population. I started reading it thinking, "What can they say that is new and not too discouraging." It was new and engaging--but still pretty discouraging.

One problem with raising the retirement age is that the young retirees in my community are the biggest source of volunteers working on our common wealth. They tutor GED students, weed the public gardens, and edit newsletters. Without them, we would need a lot more paid professionals to keep our community running.
