This is the 14th year Alaska Business Monthly has compiled a listing of 100 of Alaska's top companies--listed alphabetically-based on revenue, employee totals, products, impact to the community, funding contributions, and other noneconomical social factors.

"This year our list has a new look," said Publisher Vern McCorkle. "We have many of the old favorites listed, but we had to drop a few worthy companies to make room for up-and-coming companies who are not as big as some of the major players, but are deserving of recognition all the same."

These companies, such as Cellular One, did not make the list in 2005 but made it this year. Arctic Slope Regional Corp., a more than $1 billion company and the largest of all Native corporations in the state, did not show up on the list this year, but is represented by one of its subsidiaries, ASRC Energy Services Inc.
