A French theme park has come up with a novel way to combat litterbugs: Puy du Fou park in western France recently trained six rooks (members of the crow family) to pick trash up from the ground. These birds are well-suited for the task, as they're highly intelligent, can solve puzzles, and often use stones and twigs as tools in the wild. Four days a week, the feathered crew-named Boubou, Bamboo, Bill, Black, Bricole, and Baco--grabs small pieces of garbage in their black beaks and deposits them in a designated box in exchange for food.
