New Coast Guard Maritime Strategy in the Works.

Adm. Karl L. Schultz is working alongside his leadership team to develop a new maritime commerce strategic outlook.

The outlook is part of the service's effort to be a more "strategy-driven organization," he told National Defense during an interview at Coast Guard headquarters.

The document will examine the service's role 10 years out as it helps facilitate the maritime transportation of goods, he said.
