The University of Alaska's statewide advertising campaign received six awards in two different national advertising contests.

UA won a gold medal award and two silver awards for its uareelworld. com advertising campaign from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education of Washington, D.C. The organization handles alumni relations, university communications/marketing and fundraising efforts. The gold medal honored the entire campaign, which included print, television, radio and Web advertising.
