MATTHEW H. WILLIAMS HAS BEEN ELECTED CHAIRMAN OF THE ABA for the 2012-2013 association year. Williams is the president and chairman of Gothenburg State Bank, in Gothenburg, Neb. He is a fourth-generation banker and has been with his family-owned bank for 39 years.

Williams is currently serving as one of 14 bankers from across the country on the FDIC Advisory Committee on community banking.
