Members of the National Defense Transportation Association have reacted enthusiastically to plans for a drastically revamped annual forum.

"This is an enlightening change," said Belisa Lea-Muchoney, a manager of the Challenger Center for Space Science Education, of Alexandria, VA. "This is so appropriate to an organization that is well-founded and entrenched in transportation."

The Association's 2003 meeting will be held September 13-17 at the Hyatt Regency Crown Center, in Kansas City, MO. An estimated 1,200-1,400 association members are expected to attend. This year's theme is "Current Challenges and Transformation."

A key to the new meeting will be five professional tracks that will each include four individual sessions. The tracks will include: security, passenger and travel, contingency operations, distribution, and advance planning for industry.

"This will provide us with an opportunity for new members and new endeavors," said Lea-Muchoney.
