The 9th Annual JSEM Conference & Exhibition, "Sustaining the Force: Optimizing Readiness Through the Prevention of Pollution" will bring together more than a thousand professionals from military services, industry, academia, local, state and federal agencies to translate ideas, success stories, case histories, current trends and technologies to solutions for pollution prevention and hazardous waste management challenges. This year's conference is co-hosted by the U.S. Army Environmental Center, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland and Headquarters, Air Force Center for Environmental Excellence, Brooks City-Base, Texas. The conference will be co-located with the GeoSpatial Technology Symposium, the GeoBase Compass Conference, and the AFCEE Technology Transfer Workshop.

The AFCEE Technology Transfer Workshop will provide attendees with the tools to support the DoD readiness mission through environmental stewardship. The workshop will offer the latest knowledge and skills necessary to achieve site closure and property transfer. The workshop will focus on Performance-based Management, the new thrust within the Air Force Restoration Program. The workshop will be co-located with the JSEM Conference, the GeoSpatial Technology Symposium and the GeoBase Compass Conference.

The purpose of the 4th Annual GeoBase Compass Conference is to further a common understanding of the GeoBase program and the challenges associated with implementation told sustainment. The schedule will include educational workshops, paper presentations, plenary session, major command breakout sessions, as well as many opportunities to network within the GeoBase community. The conference agenda will be organized to complement the six pillars of the GeoBase program, as well as the Garrison, Expeditionary, and Strategic GeoBase Domains. This conference will be co-located with the JSEM Conference, GeoSpatial Technology Symposium and the AFCEE Technology Workshop.

Defense Systems Acquisition Management Course Denver, Colo.

The Defense Systems Acquisition Management Course meets the needs of defense industry acquisition managers in today's dynamic environment, providing the latest information related to acquisition policy, reform initiatives, procedures and processes. Taught by the Defense Systems Management College (DSMC), the course uses the same acquisition policy information provided to Defense Department students who attend DSMC courses for formal acquisition certification. Students are industry program managers, assistant program managers, systems engineers, industry personnel serving on DoD Integrated Product Teams and other personnel that must interface with DoD program offices involved in program development and execution.
