Joint Forces Command and DoD's Personnel Recovery Office again will sponsor the DoD Personnel Recovery Conference & Exhibition. This conference will continue the dialogue generated in the highly successful 2001 conference for developing a vision for joint operations, supporting coalition operations and preserving the lives and well-being of U.S. military, DoD civilian and contract service employees placed in danger of isolation while participating in a U.S.-sponsored activity or mission.

2400 7th Annual Pollution Prevention & Hazardous Waste Management Conference & Exhibition, San Antonio, TX

This conference provides an open forum for exchanging ideas, success stories, case histories and technologies related to pollution prevention and hazardous waste management. Through open communication, this conference seeks to unite government, academia, industry, and for the first time, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and state environmental agencies in a combined effort to implement essential pollution prevention/hazardous waste management objectives. This year's conference is hosted by the Headquarters Air Force Center for Environmental Excellence, Brooks AFB, Texas.

2350 CADD/GIS -- 2002 Geospatial Technologies Symposium & Exhibition, San Antonio, TX

The symposium highlights the latest technologies for CADD, GIS, facility management, remote sensing, and survey/mapping. For 2002 the symposium is co-located with the Air Force's Joint Services Pollution Prevention & Hazardous Waste Management Conference and Exhibition. By co-locating, attendees at both events can attend any session presentation and enjoy the huge exhibit hall.

2020 Defense Systems Acquisition Management Course, Minneapolis, MN

The Defense Systems Acquisition Management Course meets the needs of defense industry acquisition managers in today's dynamic environment, providing the latest information related to acquisition policy, reform initiatives, procedures and processes. Taught by the Defense Systems Management College (DSMC), the course uses the same acquisition policy information provided to Defense Department students who attend DSMC courses for formal acquisition certification. Students are industry program managers, assistant program managers, systems engineers, industry personnel serving on DoD Integrated Product Teams and other personnel that must interface with DoD program offices involved in program development and execution.

The annual worldwide chemical conference is the preeminent chemical and biological conference held in the United States and includes attendees from 15-20 foreign government/industries. Held annually at the home of the U.S. Army Chemical School at Fr. Leonard Wood, MO, this conference offers a series of interactive presentations addressing the specific need of warfighters in the areas of operations, training, doctrine and readiness. Industry and government exhibitors will highlight the newest chemical and biological defense technologies and applications.

2240 2002 Joint Undersea Warfare Conference (SECRET-- US ONLY), Groton, CT

This conference will feature presentations addressing critical undersea warfare policy and technological issues from high-level Naval officers and government officials and researchers from Naval, industrial, academic and other governmental laboratories. The conference will open with a one and one-half day plenary session featuring the senior Naval leadership discussing the future of Undersea Warfare. The other one and one-half day will address the technical aspects on aviation USW, C41, undersea sensors and undersea vehicles. The meeting is classified SECRET--U.S. ONLY The classified format permits disclosure of details essential to more fully understand the complexity of issues facing the USW community.

This conference will deal with the issues head-on, with ample opportunity for collegial debate, so that the mounted force contribution to our future Army will be long remembered and valued as greatly as our past accomplishments.

The symposium is an opportunity for ballistics scientists, engineers and others to report, share and discuss current research and advances in ballistics and visions of the future.
