The National Defense Industrial Association presented Barry Bates with a Gold Medal for Service upon his retirement in January from the organization in recognition of his leadership, many years of dedication to the industrial base and service to our nation.

"General Bates, a consummate professional, has distinguished himself as a consistent thought-leader, with keen attention to detail," said NDIA President and CEO Craig McKinley. "We're sad to lose General Bates to this next well-deserved stage in his life, but we are proud and very thankful for the many significant contributions he has made to NDIA and our members.
