NDIA Executive Vice President Announces Retirement.

The National Defense Industrial Association announced the retirement of executive vice president James Boozer after a nearly six-year tenure with the association.

During his time at the association, Boozer steered NDIA through successive business transformations and rapid growth, including leading it through COVID-19.

"His leadership, collegiality, infectious warmth and positive attitude has consistently helped anchor NDIA through business and economic transitions. He has led with invaluable counsel and a calm stewardship that saw him win universal support and praise from across NDIA," said association president and CEO David Norquist.

"The entire membership of NDIA, its board of directors and I are deeply indebted to him for his steady hand over the years--and his ability to serve as a model of leadership for NDIA through his trademark professionalism, good humor and grace," said NDIA Board Chair Michael Bayer.

Boozer became executive vice president of NDIA on Dec. 4, 2017, after retiring as a two-star general from a 35-year career in the Army. His assignments included Japan, Europe and Germany. He also served as the operations director for the assistant chief of staff for Army installations at the Pentagon.
