NDIA Donates Maintenance Award Plaques.

The National Defense Industrial Association donated plaques for 23 maintenance awards. The awards were given to soldiers by Army Chief of Staff Gen. Eric Shinseki in July, in a ceremony at the Metro Center Marriott.

"Maintenance is more than just turning wrenches," Shinseki said. He explained that preventive checks and services by operators keep the equipment running. He added that good maintenance also requires knowledge of the vehicle systems and the requisition system to order and stock parts. Winners in this year's competition were:
