been
convened

Geneva
by the
Governing Body
of the
International Labour
Office,
and
having
met in its
Fifty-seventh Session

Having
decided
upon

adoption
of
proposals
for the
substitution,
in the
provisions
of
the
Constitution
of the
International Labour Organisation relating
to
membership
of
the
Governing Body,
of the figures
"fifty-six", "twenty-eight",
"eighteen"
and
"fourteen"
for
the figures
"forty-eight",
"twenty-four", "fourteen"
and
"twelve",
a
question which
is
the
seventh item
on the
agenda
of the
session,
Adopts
this twenty-second
day of
June
of the
year
one
thousand nine hundred
and
seventy-two
the
following instrument
for the
amendment
of the
Constitution
of the
Inter-
national Labour Organisation, which
may be
cited
as the
Constitution
of the
International
Labour Organisation Instrument
of
Amendment,
1972:
Article
1
In the
text
of the
Constitution
of the
International Labour Organisation
as at
present
in
force,
the figures
"fifty-six",
"twenty-eight", "eighteen"
and
"fourteen" shall
be
sub-
stituted
for the figures
"forty-eight", "twenty-four", "fourteen"
and
"twelve"
in
paragraphs
1
and 2 of
article
7.
Article
2
As
from
the
date
of the
coming into force
of
this Instrument
of
Amendment
the
Con-
stitution
of the
International Labour Organisation shall have
effect
as
amended
in
accordance
with
the
preceding Article.
Article
3
On the
coming into force
of
this Instrument
of
Amendment,
the
Director-General
of
the
International Labour
Office
shall cause
an
official
text
of the
Constitution
of the
Inter-
