Howard Kunreuther is co-director of the NBER's Working Group on Insurance and the James G. Dinan Professor of Decision Sciences and Public Policy at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He is also Co-Director of the Wharton Risk Management and Decision Processes Center.

Kunreuther received his undergraduate degree from Bates College and his Ph.D. in Economics from MIT. He is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS); a member of the National Academy of Sciences' Panel on Increasing National Resilience to Hazards and Disasters; and a Distinguished Fellow of the Society for Risk Analysis, having received its Distinguished Achievement Award in 2001. He co-chaired the World Economic Forum (WEF) Global Agenda Council on "Innovation and Leadership in Reducing Risks from Natural Disasters'" and is currently involved with the WEF Risk Response Network.
