Donald R. Davis is a professor of economics at Columbia University and a Research Associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research. He received his B.A. in Philosophy from the University of California, Berkeley in 1981 and his Ph.D. in Economics from Columbia University in 1992.

Davis was an assistant professor in Harvard University's economics department from 1992-6 and an associate professor there from 1996-9. He joined the Columbia faculty as a professor of economics in 1999. His fields of interest are international trade and economic development in the open economy.
