FOA BOTTLE: Bio-Optimized Technologies to keep
Thermoplastics out of Landlls and the Environment
announcement to support high-impact research and
development for plastics by developing new plastics
that are capable of efficient recyclability and improving
recycling strategies that can break existing plastics
into chemical building blocks that can be used to make
higher-value products.
Deadline: June 18, 2020.
Funds: $25 million for up to 10 awards ranging from $1.5
million to $2.5 million.
Eligibility: Colleges and universities; for-prot
organizations, including small businesses; nonprot
organizations; state, local, special district and Native
American tribal governments; and qualied individuals;
among others.
Areas: DOE said topic areas include: Highly Recyclable
or Biodegradable Plastics, to develop new plastics
that have improved performance attributes over a
comparable existing plastic that can be cost-effectively
recycled or biodegrade completely in the environment or
in compost facilities; Novel Methods for Deconstructing
and Upcycling Existing Plastics, to generate energy-
efficient recycling technologies (mechanical, chemical or
biological) that are capable of breaking plastic streams
into intermediates that can be upgraded into higher-
value products; and BOTTLE Consortium Collaborations
to Tackle Challenges in Plastic Waste, to create
collaborations with the BOTTLE Laboratory Consortium
to further the long-term goals of the Consortium and the
Plastics Innovation Challenge.

NAWCA 2021 Mexico Standard Grant (DOI)
Scope: The Interior Department’s U.S. Fish and Wildlife
Service seeks applications for the NAWCA 2021 Mexico
Standard Grant announcement to promote partnerships
between public agencies and groups interested in
protecting, improving, restoring and managing an
appropriate distribution and diversity of wetland
ecosystems and other habitats for wetlands-associated
migratory birds and other sh and wildlife in North
America.
Deadline: May 19, 2020.
Funds: $2.5 million total for up to 15 awards ranging
from $10,000 to $1 million.
Eligibility: Unrestricted.
Areas: DOI said funding supports projects that include
one or more of these: the acquisition of property
containing wetlands ecosystems and associated
habitats, including water rights, where the acquired
land will be administered for its long-term conservation
and for the benet of migratory birds, sh and other
wildlife that depend on it; restoration, enhancement or
management of wetlands ecosystems and associated
habitats, where these activities will be conducted on
lands and waters that will be administered for their long-
term conservation and for the benet of migratory birds,
sh and other wildlife that depend on them; or, in Mexico
only, activities that involve technical training, education,
sustainable-use studies or organizational infrastructure
building needed to develop or strengthen wetlands
conservation and management capabilities.

NAWCA 2021-2 Canada Grants (DOI)
Scope: The Interior Department’s U.S. Fish and Wildlife
Service (USFWS) seeks applications for the NAWCA
2021-2022 Canada Grants announcement to support
public-private partnerships carrying out projects in
Canada that further the goals of the North American
Wetlands Conservation Act.
Deadline: Aug. 28, 2020.
Funds: $22 million total for up to 10 awards ranging
from $200,000 to $10 million.
Eligibility: Unrestricted.
Areas: DOI said projects must involve long-
term protection, restoration enhancement and/or
establishment of wetlands and associated uplands
habitats for the benet of all wetlands-associated
migratory birds. The program supports the DOI and
USFWS mission of protecting and managing the nation’s
natural resources by collaborating with partners and
stakeholders to conserve land and water and to expand
outdoor recreation and access.

Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Program
Management (DOI)
Scope: The Interior Department’s Bureau of Land
Management (BLM) seeks applications for the FY2020
BLM National Operations Center Fisheries and Aquatic
Resources Program Management announcement to
work with partner organizations to accomplish national-
level goals across multiple state boundaries for BLM
Aquatic Habitat Management.
